Aliens? Hardly

A bunch of flying objects that seemingly defy normal understandings of aerodynamics have been spotted around the US. Naturally geeks are putting aside all logic and reason in favor of thinking the US government has some top secret project involving invisibility capable flying probes. It's gone so far that this story is actually being taken seriously, though it reads like the rantings of a delusional hippie who is convinced his penis has been microchipped, though odds are it is a clever hoax to capitalize on whats happening here. People don't believe 9/11 conspiracy theories but they believe that, pah-lease.
Well, I know I've read about these devices before, I just can't put my finger on it, the basically use some sort of electro-<insert word> system to hover, the bars protruding upwards you see in the photographs are what makes the flight possible. Just can't remember how, Google hasn't helped either.
If anyone knows please say so.

The image above looks to be a poor quality fake.
The focus of the UFO is too sharp for the rest of the image.
Any 3d program could easily reproduce the same scene. With a bit of skill it could be done better.
The bar pointing up are a distraction where you are meant to find a theory to fit the image.
Just my humble opinion.

I'd agree but I think there is a method in which it is possiblet o hover in the air using something to do with ionising air, I wouldn't be surprised if you could buy those things from a hobby shop.
@Raven
heh, I can still dream it's some sort of hobbyist toy
I suppose it could just as well be a pure hoax, photoshop and everything that comes with it.

Mythbusters did it on an episode about antigravity devices.
You can have levertation by ionizing air in the same way you can with a propellar. However for a craft this size you may be looking from the mega watt to the giga watt range.

Besides, those pictures look about as much like ET craft as would a close-up photo of my cell phone. I'm of the Photoshop opinion on this one myself.
