Fox News Viewers Least Educated About World Events
May 7th 2007 16:24
Big surprise, last I checked Fox was speaking of fairies in Iraq. According to the study (conducted by far left wing activists) those who rely exclusively on Fox News for their information are the worst informed about world events in the US.
Of course, given Fox News loves to spin everything to its own end, from claiming Obama is a Muslim (spectacularly proven false) to Civil War being a good thing (how civil war could be good is beyond me, even George Bush isn't stupid enough to try to push that angle).
Looking at the misperceptions one at a time, people were asked, for example, if the U.S. had discovered the alleged stockpiles of WMD in Iraq since the war began. Just 11% of those who relied on newspapers as their “primary news source” incorrectly believed that U.S. forces had made such a discovery. Only slightly more — 17% — of those who relied on NPR and PBS were wrong. Yet 33% of Fox News viewers were wrong, far ahead of those who relied on any other outlet.
It's interesting to note, the Fox News crew pulled out 'WMDs' which were really nothing more than rusty ex-soviet missiles, it was concluded they couldn't be fired and the damage they would cause would hardly be en 'mass'.
Overall, 80 percent of those who relied on Fox News as their primary news source believed at least one of the three misperceptions. Viewers/listeners/readers of other news outlets didn’t even come close to this total.
Well informed? Or just eating up bull?
Though in fairness it's like arguing with idiots, they claim the whole media is corrupt except Fox News. Of course the claim is outright pathetic, but thats what they say.
Like Shia's who claim Muslims killed Ali despite it being historical fact they did, they say it is falsified history. The Nation of Islam takes it to ridiculous levels, they claim white men never existed before 1400 years ago and that a crazy scientist invented them. Point to all the obvious facts and what do they say? Conspiracy!
I wonder how many Fox News viewers think T-Rex eats coconuts.
From the eyes of a Fox News viewer, all research is liberal bias.
