Get the RSCPA on PC Worlds Ass!

PC World have declared that the $2419 USD Mac Book Pro is the fastest Vista laptop they have ever tested which is, if anything, a clear indication the head honchos up at PC World HQ have been feeding illicit drugs to the monkeys who work for them.

The fastest Windows Vista notebook we've tested this year is a Mac. Try that again: The fastest Windows Vista notebook we've tested this year--or for that matter, ever--is a Mac. Not a Dell, not a Toshiba, not even an Alienware. The $2419 (plus the price of a copy of Windows Vista, of course) MacBook Pro's PC WorldBench 6 Beta 2 score of 88 beats Gateway's E-265M by a single point, but the MacBook's score is far more impressive simply because Apple couldn't care less whether you run Windows

Oh thats great, of course they leave out the part about not testing any other highend notebooks in the past three months! I'm sorry but when putting a $2419 laptop against ones that cost half as much and making some profound declaration of its supposed superiority you are in fact stating the obvious. There is no difference between a Mac Book Pro and a regular laptop, it uses the same parts in the same configurations.

Blak Mac Book Pro
Hooray For Black?
But for arguments sake, lets put things into perspective, a notebook "Equipped with a 2.4-GHz Core 2 Duo T7700 processor, the maximum 4GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and nVidia's new top-of-the-line notebook graphics card, the nVidia GeForce 8600M GT" is something you would pay about $2000 USD if you were purchasing from Dell, except the videocard would be nVidias *real* top-of-the-line 8700M GT, the 8600M GT while being a great card for laptops and all is not nVidias top of the line.

Declaring that the Mac Book Pro is the fastest Vista laptop they have ever tested is misleading and if anything it shows that they really, REALLY need to start testing other Laptops. Of course they got the attention they were craving for and thats probably the only thing they were trying to do.

Well it's nothing new, OS X in the past ran on a PC, same with Windows running on a Mac.

I'm holding off until after exams and dual booting is possible before giving OS X a shot XD
