Apple Continues War Against Blogs

December 23rd 2007 10:28
Who said Apple was into all the hip stuff? When it involves something as incriminating as rumours or comments about Apple's behaviour or even comment on matters as a self confessed 'fake' Apple employee and (*gasp*) Apple attacks. Now famous Steve Jobs impersonator 'Fake Steve Jobs' is being threatened by the Apple legal team.

From his Blog:

This is followed by a recommendation that I retain an attorney to represent me. And then, I swear to friggin God, there's a list of my assets with an estimated value for each and I suppose the implied threat that I stand to lose them. Which kinda scares the living shit out of me, to be honest, since they've got a pretty thorough list, which means they've been doing some research on this and the offer didn't just come out of thin air. Their lists includes my home address, most recent assessed value of my house and all the information about my mortgage; a rental property that we own; my bank accounts and investment accounts, including the college funds for our kids, whose names are used; and our boat and two cars.

Source

It should be noted that Fake Steve Jobs is in fact a professional writer who was most recently hired by Forbes. In any case the question must be asked, what has happened to freedom of the press?

Oink Pig Shut Down
This Little Piggy Got Shutdown
Title long? Well good, because I am trying to express my sadness for a service (whose existence was not even worthy of a Wiki entry) which was shutdown by a global RIAA conspiricy.

So the internet is with one less bittorrent tracker, it's over now isn't it? The common argument (or more like justification) for using Bittorrent to download music is because fans are looking for a quick and easy way to get music and paid alternatives often times aren't good enough. iTunes apparently has popups and DRM (which is from what I understand impossible to circumvent) then theres Amazon which provides DRM free tracks but... well thats Amazon

The Obsession

October 27th 2007 17:25
It would seem that Little Green Footballs has a hard time dealing with all that Daily Kos branded popularity and like a bitter child has been dedicating lots and lots of time attacking the more liberal blog.

The exact words "Daily Kos" is mentioned 54,300 times on the LGF blog as according to Google while the exact words, in the exact order, "Little Green Footballs" is listed a mere 1,250 times on the Daily Kos blog. What’s going on? Is Little Green Footballs mission statement to hate everyone more than anyone could possibly hate it and its members

Myspace brings me misery and suffering, facebook does the same but at least it's a bit more fun.

Fun as in how? Welllll, lots of fun, for instance after using Facebooks 'likeness' test on movies I found that I should divorce Brenton and marry Cibbuano. Very handy should I ever be looking for romance [ Click here to read more ]

Spam, Advertising Slaves?

August 27th 2007 16:09
Spam is Good for Ye heart
Spaaaam of The Meaty Kind
Spam emails, annoying as hell sometimes. I don't get much of it, I don't know why, maybe because I keep my email private to myself and a select few others and keep away from signing up on shoddy websites with it. THat isn't to say I don't get any spam emails, like most people, of the spam I get some of them turn out to be quite odd.

I have no idea who Slava is, but she must be desperate if she's sending random people emails hoping to score a prince charming of sorts

I hate to say it but if a potentiol employer plugs in my name on Google I probably won't get a job. Alas, it's the reality of being crazy (at least I can still change my name).

Whats intersting is how often you find something you least expect, take CibbyP's Flickr account which I found in a totally unrelated Google search. Right

Geeks REALLY Need to Get Laid

August 12th 2007 13:30
So I was browsing the podcast section on Digg, a popular news aggregator site thingymabob, when I stumbled across the 'health' sub category. Naturally the top five were going to be about sex, but you would think at laest some of the top ten would be about healthy living, body building, excercise and whatnot. Sadly, it wasn't really the case...

O.J's Murder Confession Leaked

June 21st 2007 04:46
On BitTorrent no less (though I have a direct link). After the public outrage 500,000 copies of the book about how O.J 'would have done it' (read: did it) were destroyed, but of course, when you're working your way to a paperless society it sure as hell won't do you any good.

Obligatory teaser (from the book

National Company Rating

June 19th 2007 11:49
I'm putting forward a new proposal, a website that gives consumers the power to rate companies based on the experiences they have had. This system will ask for validation of the purchase of a product by way of serial number and gives you, the consumer the ability to rate the company based on any number of criteria.

If I buy a burger from McDonalds and I dislike it for whatever reason, I can use a special code on the wrapper to authenticate a submission of a negative comment and rating, likewise if I am satisfied I can do the oppossite and give them positive feedback

I Know What You Did

June 19th 2007 02:06
Dear Readers,

Looks like I've had a brush with the copyright peoples, all I can say is that I feel somewhat special. Now, if this were my site run with my money I'd probably fight it. It isn't, I'm not going to 'fight' something by squatting on someone elses back

I just thought it was the generel Digg bias but this particular Digg submission is kind of making me doubt were talking about Digg members here.

A lot of the members commenting were only recently registered, also if you follow the comments down the line
