This documentary pretty much speaks for itself.

Whats scary is the size of MySpace, huge, with no real purpouse besides 'social networking'. Where do the profits come from? Ads of course, but when you are running a service built on top of a userbase that knows little to nothing about computer software they can easily be exploited via malware.

Child Porn Is Real and Free

June 6th 2007 03:10
P2P Networks enable the free distribution of porn to such a degree that filtering the illegal porn from the legal is next to impossible. While the file names of child porn tend to contain words such as 'pedo' or 'incest' amongst others it is not always the case that the name is the content and likewise it isn't always the case that if the words were not in the title it wasn't child porn.

The problem is that these words are in hot demand, do a search on 'pedo' in any P2P etwork and you'll get many hits, as such people who have made it a hobby for themselves to distribute porn or other such things through the internet. In the end they will use these key words to garner lots of hits through the P2P network and end up with lots of people downloading their files.

How can this be stopped? I hate to say it but an invasion of privacy is pretty much the only way, you can easily find who is hosting what file and selectively prosecute the candidates though it wouldn't be an easy task, people in Romania could be distributing child porn to people in America.

Another more obvious yet probably more difficult thing to do is stop it from happening, though good luck trying.
