Leaving Behind Google and Mozilla...

When Firefox 2.0 was released it met an extremely warm reception, as if Internet browsing took an evolutionary step up the tech ladder. Though no one cared to look at IE7, it was branded the bastard son of a goat and cow before it ever was released.
I admit I never have actually used IE7, until just two days ago. Having installed Vista on a seperate partition I was worried it would be difficult to move all my work over, especially with rumours circulating of all the bugs and evil souls hidden behind Vista's pristine graphics.
It ended up with me deciding to just take the plunge, I had already spent a small fortune on the software and not using it at all felt pretty stupid. So along with my move came the need to re-install much needed software, including Firefox.
It was a kind of underwhelming moment, Firefox 2.0 simply does not match IE7's slick interface, not only that but IE7 has pretty much all the functionality Firefox does. I still do have Firefox installed though I only really use IE7, using Firefox reminds me of Windows XP a little too much, IE7 is definitely more intune with modern looks providing a minimalistic interface and affording extra screen realestate for surfers.
Just compare the two for yourself,
Then comes Google Sidebar, the one program that probably gave Windows XP a few more months of life, I had no need for VIsta's Indexed Search Feature or Sidebar because I already had both with Google Sidebar.
Alas, everything I needed Google Sidebar for is provided in ample by Vista, and yes it also looks better than Google Sidebar.
Having said what I have I understand that I may be pissing a few people off. All I can say is I'm not trying to imply that IE7 is definitely better than Firefox or that Google Sidebar is no good compared to Vista but that Microsoft has put in a lot of effort with Windows Vista and that I am perfectly satisfied with it, even more so than when I made the jump from Windows 98 to XP.
