Motion Capture in Games

March 7th 2007 14:01
While a lot of the stuff being said here is hog wash, such as ‘up until the Playstation 3 we’ve not been able to display characters realistically’, which is not true. Characters have been displayed realistically for quite some time now.

If were talking about their emotions, I’d say it goes back to the Super Nintendo with games like ‘Chrono Trigger’ even if primitively. If they mean motion captured facial animations then yes, it probably hasn’t been done much, however this is not an evolution so much so it’s an increment.

Still, it’s a nice video showing off where games are headed in this day and age.

I agree it isn't much, we kind of always want to be blown away these days.
