My Murder Weapon is My Book

March 8th 2007 16:52
I almost can't believe I have to get my sorry rear end through all these books in the next four months, thank god I don't have to! Almost. The book down bottom, I only have to get through half of it by mid year exams and everything on top? Yeah I have to read through them all.

Of course they don't include my other math stuff which adds about another five hundred pages to the whole thing.

On the bright side I could literally kill a burglar with one of them, particularly the damn physics textbook.

Lots of university reading to be done
Books, Books, Books

Just so everyone knows, I particularly despise the book called 'Data and Computer Communications', the book is so dense, it literally has twice or three times more facts per paragraph than the database or physics text books. It's like medical science with routers!

Heh- when I was in school a girl was attacked walking home- she hit her assailant with her backpack and broke two of his ribs.

Lucky she wasn't an engineering major or he'd have been killed.

Nah I'm computer science, the damn physics is a forced extra upon me...

But physics comes in handy everywhere- it's the source code the gods used to program the universe. I use it every day just in the kitchen alone.

And understanding physics even helps me "get" a lot more of the punch lines I hear from politicians in the news.

heh, nice way to put it 'source code of the universe'.

The problem is it's too damn long and annoying, that book is soooo heavy...

You could get really fit lugging them around though...

I couldn't even if I tried, my bag isn't large enough or strong enough to stay in tact with all those in it.

I bought them one book at a time, to avoid a sore back, which I still got in the end after carrying the physics book in my bag for a whole day.

but I am taking what you are saying into consideration, I might use them for weight training or something... heh, weight training the geeky way.

When I was a humble (well, slightly less egotistical) student studying french I had three books on the subejct that had a combined weight of 7 kgs. For that one subject.

I think I lost 3kgs each time I walked home....

less egotistical? Oh come on, that sucks

In this day and age of digital media I don't have to carry my books back and forth, though I am still quite light on my feet.

I guess french students don't have ego's the size of russia, unlike us crazy comp sci types

Maybe thats true Stanley, but I reckon if I were doing whatever subjects you are I'd have a failure rate of 110%, we all have the stuff were good at and were bad at
