NEC for Super 3G
November 21st 2006 07:31
Super 3G is the next leap from 3G mobile technology. 3G simply is the third generation of communication for mobile phones.
NEC has announced it will develop components for ‘Super 3G’ capable handsets which will be available on the market by 2010 for NTT DoCoMo.
‘Super 3G’ has download connection speed of 100mbps which is about 260 times faster than the current mobile 3G technology available, and about 50 times faster than stationary 3G connections.
The first ever ‘Super 3G’ handsets were released earlier this year however are only able to download at 3.6mbps which is only 10 times faster than regular 3G.
While the protocols under which ‘Super 3G’ should comply will be finalized by 2007 most of the basic designs have already been completed this year, hence DoCoMo is in the reasonable clear to go ahead and develop this technology.
