Optimus Keyboard
December 20th 2006 08:24
The Optimus keyboard looks amazing, it is the kind of thing geeks like me dream about. It is also one of those things that we know will be ridiculously expensive without much advantage over tried and true concepts.
Each individual key on the Optimus keyboard is a digital screen which displays an image, this image could be the letters of the alphabet or shortcut key’s for any individual software application.
When first revealed it caused massive ripples throughout the internet, could this be the keyboard of tomorrow today? Then came the sad news, that due to technological restrictions the display key’s would be in black and white.
Now all of a sudden the developers will be focusing on colour again dropping the black and white concept. So were back to square one, will they do it? Won’t they do it? Will 2007 be the year of the keyboard? Will you be willing to invest the amount of the down payment of a house on a silly keyboard? We’ll see when we see.

None actually exist beyond concept and design, so we'll have to wait and see how spectacular the end product is.
Anyway, you'll probably need more than a USB to use port to use it, let alone own it, I heard it was going to cost around $700 US..

Still KVM is pretty cool, having multiple computers under your hand rocks...
