Playstation Home is no more than an over glorified matchmaking lobby with a simplistic ‘Sims’ element tacked on to boot. I can’t find the target audience, it may be a brief diversion for some Playstation 3 uses for so long but as it stands I don’t see it lasting long term.
However Sony might have a few tricks up its sleave and we may very well see this be the next big thing in online gaming. I do think it’s cool, but the target audience is missed by a few miles.
You know Sony cannot, as a rule of thumb, introduce something new without bagging the competition? It holds true in the trailer:
