Print Screen Works Better on Vista than XP

March 11th 2007 14:23
Back during the days of Windows XP you'd have to get an elaborate piece of software that would take screenshots from video's in individual frames since the PrtScn key didn't catch the screen for video's playing on almost all media players.

However with Vista that seems to be a thing of the past,

Compare to the same technique used in Windows XP,

Windows XP Print Screen

The image itself is saved as shown with a black background where the video frame is supposed to be, if you would like to see what the image does in Paint (and I highly recommend you do) try the alt-PrntScrn combination on a video and paste the image into paint, see what it does.

I know a lot of people will be saying this is something that’s 'simple', but just like paint or notepad, simple as it may be, is priceless when needed urgently.

Nope, stupid Modem doesn't support Vista via USB and it won't recognize an ethernet connection, WHATS THE POINT OF AN ETHERNET CONNECTION IF IT DOESNT WORK!?

So I'm just dual booting both.

Vista isn't half bad, while I don't see the reason to upgrade from windows XP (providided you have google toolbar installed) it still looks and feels pretty nifty.

Hey Ahmed,

Be wary of that Google Toolbar. Google cannot be trusted any more than Microsoft. Did you know Your Google was founded partly with investment money from the CIA?. Don't trust them with your search history.

Peace

Yeah I'm well aware of googles tendencies to violate peoples privacies under search warrants. They claim they are working on privatizing searches but I don't really believe it.

However at the end of the day I don't have much to hide in my searches, I don't search for things to buy or sell which could be used against me via marketting or in court to assasinate my character (should it ever come to that)... so yeah.
