RIAA Bullied Apple? Bull Shitty Tales For Fanboys
September 15th 2007 18:19
IT's a sad state of affairs when a company can screw over its overly loyal fanuserbase and have its own customers lay blame on something else entirely.
So the reason the iPhone does not support custom ringtones, something that has been around for quite sometime, is because the RIAA won't let Apple due to royalty disputes.
Do I smell bullshit on this purely unfounded story? Uh-huh. Lets put this into perspective:
Nokia has sold over 15 million MP3 capable mobile phones in the first quarter of 2006 alone, every single one of those mobile phones can have custom ringtones. Thats 15 million mobilephones in peoples pockets that can play music ripped from a CD as a ringtone.
Sony Erricson has sold 20 million MP3 capable phones in one quarter of 2006. Thats ANOTHER 20 million phones capable of playing music ripped from a CD as a ringtone.
What are the idiot fanboys thinking? How is it even possible the RIAA decided that Apple shouldn't be able to allow custom ringtones on the iPhone? Even if the RIAA threatened Apple there would have been a very strong court case in Apples favor.
So either Apple has no guts or the idiot fanboys are just trying to justify yet another missing feature of the iPhone.
What next?
