The Simpson’s Cartoon Intro’s of Past (and Anomaly)

The full length live intro:





The real life opening is a little confusing, Homer is in his regular American car where the driver seat is on the left but Marge is switched around, she’s on the right hand side of the vehicle and Maggie is on the left.

When I first noticed that I thought the video was shot in the UK or (laughs) Australia, but it wouldn’t make sense since Homer’s car has the drivers seat on the left like in the US.

What gives?

The countryside in the video looks a lot like the UK, so I'm guessing it was shot there. They drive on the right in Europe, so perhaps the other car is from there? Even though the driver's seat is on the left, he appears to be on the left hand side of the road.
