Toshiba Achieves 100GB in 1.8-inch Hard Drive

December 6th 2006 11:02
Do these guys ever learn? Well, apparently, yes, they’ll continue to squeeze more 0’s and 1’s into smaller spaces so long as they can have space to squeeze it in.

Toshiba has announced a new line of 1.8-inch Hard Drives targeted at mobile PC’s. As of writing it is the highest capacity achieved on 1.8-inch Hard Drives yet. The drive, titled MK1011GAH, has a density of 240.8 megabits per square millimetre using PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) technology.
