Windows Vista to support Gemalto ‘out of the box’
November 29th 2006 08:21
Gemalto has announced that Windows Vista will support Gemalto .Net devices right out of the box.
Security is taken a step further from the usual username/password prompts with Gemalto’s smart cards, tokens among a myriad of software level security measures.
This new policy on Microsoft's behalf looks to make it even easier for third parties to integrate their own software security measures into the Vista operating system.
Microsoft may essentially be caving into demand with these recent developments as Sanjay Parthasarathy of Microsoft says "Customers are asking Microsoft for ways to simplify deployment of strong authentication to enhance network and information security”.
Also put in light the recent developments with the EU it seems this isn’t voluntary on Microsoft's behalf but rather forced.
