Why More People Know Global Warming Exists Than Ever Before
February 15th 2007 16:47
May I borrow a line from the conservative writer, Andrew Bolt? ‘They’ve already lost, they just don’t know it, like the Japanese soldiers still holding out on the Kokoda track as Japan surrenders’ (sic). Such is the way of the ignorant conservatives who forcefully bend science via politics and think it magically solves the issues of global warming.
It doesn’t, as of writing the only ‘credible’ scientists who are refuting global warming being caused by humans are being paid $10,000 by oil corps, the other bunch who are refuting it believe the apocalypse will happen before global warming drastically changes planet earth as we know it.
What happens when you conclusively prove the scientific validity of global warming to a not so snake-tongued conservative (one that can’t figure out how to twist your facts to suit his/hers warped views). They start talking politics.
It’s ironic, these same people refute the idea of global warming being a result of humans polluting the atmosphere but is a natural cycle then they go and claim it isn’t even happening because a bit of snow froze over their porch. Clearly they are not sure if they want to disprove global warming or if they want to disprove human kinds obvious contribution to it. One thing is for certain, they really don’t like the idea of global warming and they will contradict themselves at every turn and every metrological event simply to say it isn’t a threat to people.
This all simply contributes to reassuring people of the reality of the fact, that global warming exists and is a real threat, ice caps are melting, sea levels are rising, habitats are being destroyed and the only people refuting it seem to have political agenda’s at heart, not reality. People know this, as surprising as it sounds many people know the truth.
Of course this is largely thanks to self-contradicting and politicising websites such as the one I have linked to here that divert from the point. People see both sides of the debate and they naturally end up agreeing with the people that don’t doge facts to push political ideals down their throats.
I think the future of the world is in safe hands, aside from a few and far in between right wing conservative nut cases who’ll die before admitting that dumping hundreds of thousands of tons of toxic gasses into our atmospheres is not at all affecting what goes on in the ground.
The conservative species is endangered, thank god too, heres one species that I won’t miss when they finally all die out.
