Wii, The Solution to Fat Kids
February 20th 2007 16:09
Kids swinging the Wii-Mote around burn 40% more calories than their lesser fortunate none-Wii owning friends who hold a regular controller, this extra 40% amounts to about an average of 1,830 calories a week.
I was a bit shocked, just 40% more? Kids need to play more physical Wii games such as Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
The folks at Nintendo also have plans to release an exercising game on the Wii.

I'm also a sucker for the Wii commercials - brilliant advertising! *SMILES*

I'm still looking for a Wii here, they've completely sold out in every store, not that it'd do me good. Can't get one for another two weeks...

Aimed at people like me... hmm, which demographic does that put me in? Thirty-something moms?

The only video game I've ever been a sucker for is SIMS, which is ironic since I hated it with a passion the first time I played it. I gave it another go, and before I knew it, I was insisting on having all the expansion packs and new editions. *LOL* I try only to play during the summer months when the kids are out of school, though.

I'm also guessing that version will be omiting the "whoo hoo" feature. *LOL* Then again, I could be wrong. It's happened before.

Well the traditional Sims may still be coming to the Wii, knowing EA it definitely will. The Sims is a cash cow of epic proportions.

My son has tried desperately to get me involved in other games and they just don't have the draw for me. He thought my enjoyment of playing deity would attract me to... what's it called, "CIV"? Where you build your own civilizations... but it was too much like a board game, too many instructions, and it didn't take with me. He also tried to get me involved in another game with elves and faeries since he knows I love that realm - but it required reading missions and maps on nearly every screen and I prefer not to have to "think" when gaming. How's that for the ultimate in lazy?
I did spend about two weeks with Pet Vet. I was checking it out before my daughter played it, but then came to a point where I couldn't advance. I HATE that and will keep at it until I figure out what I'm doing wrong, or what I haven't figured out to do right. As it turns out, the game had a glitch that required a patch to fix, and as soon as I repaired it, I realized I had gone as far as the game could go and lost interest.
Years ago, on the original Nintendo, I was a sucker for Tetris, but even moreso for Zelda. I'm not sure why Zelda lost its charm for me, but it's just not as "magical" as it once was.
SIMS is a psychological escape for me, but other than that, I guess I'm just not cut out to be a gamer.

Up until now everyone thought games like the sims were popular due to their lack of objectives and easy gameplay. Even if it applies in part your driving factor is different.
