Wii Vastly More Popular Than Playstation 3 in Japan

According to Google trends the Wii is clocking up about ten times more Google searches than ‘Playstation 3’, in other countries like the US of A it is far closer to the Playstation 3 and sometimes is coming a distant second to the Playstation 3.
In almost every other country however the Playstation 3 is more popular by sometimes significant margins, however more recent stats indicate the Playstation 3 has been slipping while the Wii has been rocketing. Could this be an indication of what's to come in the near future?
For instance in the USA the Playstation 3 has been steadily hovering in popularity while Nintendo’s Wii, since its name unveiling last year has started gaining an extremely high momentum and now, most recently, it has peaked in popularity to a level approximately four times higher than the Playstation 3’s current (and coinciding) all time high.
Shift of focus for the people? Quite possibly.
What is also of interest is that the Wii with its current peak in popularity has matched the Xbox 360’s peak popularity back when it launched but the Playstation 3 is yet to reach such a level, trailing behind both the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii by a considerable margin. This indicates the Playstation 3 may never in fact reach the level of popularity the Xbox 360 and Wii have.

Theres something wrong with the ps3's black colour output, it looks more reddish, also clarity in some movies and it also suffers from heavy saturation. It isn't the fault of the foremat, just of the blu-ray player.
